Facebook has unveiled new features to the site, which are designed to make the tagging of photos easier.

Speaking about the new face-recognition tech in a blog, Sam Odio from Facebook says about the updates: “People love tagging their friends and family in photos, but we’ve heard that it can be a tedious process.

“You now can add tags with just a couple of clicks directly from your home page and other sections of the site, using the same face detection technology that cameras have used for years.”

Essentially this means that you don’t have to manually add an image box to faces to tag them, as Facebook will now automatically ‘see’ the faces.

Those who are worries that they are automatically going to get tagged smoking and boozing at the work’s party, don’t be, it will recognise your face as an, er, face but you still have to manually add a name to the mug.

Divvy it up

Odio knows a lot about this sort of tech as until a few months ago he was part of Divvyshot – a photo-sharing service which was snapped up by Facebook.

The company was bought to make Facebook’s photo service better, so the addition of better tagging should be the first in a long line of tweaks.

The Justice of Lahore high court  Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry  on Tuesday  asked the P.T.A to take notice of facebook and block it until wednesday . All the Islamic layers filed the petition through chaudhry Zulifqar who stated that  ” No Practice against Islam is allowed in Pakistan”. It facebook is agains our Holy prophet (S.A.W)

He also told that that facebook has many other issues with Islamic ideology . and many of the islamic countries have already banned this website earlier, so Pakistan should also ban it as soon as possible.

There are 45 million users of facebook in Pakistan. If it get banned facebook will face a big loss and also realize that In future there should not anything like 2oth may event.

In a case that someone leaves Facebook, they will only allow account ‘deactivation’ instead of permanent deletion which means that a user cannot entirely delete his profile, photos, videos, messages, etc.

Suprisingly, someone from outside of Facebook created a group inside of Facebook. The group, residing under Internet & Technology – Websites category, has provided the instructions on how to permanently delete your Facebook account:

HOW TO ACHIEVE PERMANENT DELETION

• Go to this page. Click “Submit” and follow the instructions.
• Your account will be deactivated for two weeks, and if you don’t log in during that period, your account is permanently deleted.
• This method is official and should be complete, i.e. no need to delete individual photos, comments, messages or items from your profile or anywhere else on Facebook!

A notification will be sent to you that one of your friends has commented on your status, it will open a new page and tell you to re-enter your Facebook user name and password.

The page looks just like the real Facebook login page so be careful, don’t enter your user ID and password or it will be hacked.

Open your Facebook Account and clear the Email option for every action except the one that says “Sends me a message”. You may also want to turn off email notifications for all third-party applications that are attached to your Facebook profile.

Next, open the Facebook Notifications page and deselect notifications from all Facebook applications except the official apps which include Friends, Wall, Links and Gifts.

Now copy the address of the RSS Feed that says “Your Notifications” and copy-paste that link into FeedBlitz to receive a daily email digest of all activity happening around your Facebook profile.

Alternatively, you can use an RSS reader like Google Reader or FeedDemon to subscribe to your Facebook Notifications feed.

The only problem is that these will make your Facebook Notifications feed public. It that makes you a bit uncomfortable, you can either use the Live Bookmarks feature in Firefox to subscribe to the Facebook feed in private or simply bookmark the Facebook Notifications page in your browser and check it maybe once in a day.
